Shadow Ryder: A Debt of Rust and Ruin

(5.0/5 Rating)
They think he’s just a handyman who fixes what’s broken. They’re about to find out how dangerous he is when it’s time to tear things apart. Meet Frank Shadow—a former Chicago detective secretly backed by the FBI on an off-the-books manhunt.
The Story

Inside the pages of Shadow Ryder

He rolls into the fading town of Kimmswick, Missouri, on a dusty 1988 Honda Shadow, looking like a wild-bearded drifter looking for cheap repair work. The locals call him Frank Shadow, and they think he’s just a laborer who fixes rotted porches and leaky sinks. They are half right. Frank fixes things—but he isn’t a drifter. He is a former Chicago detective secretly backed by the FBI on an off-the-books manhunt to track down and destroy Enrique Alfaro’s cartel.

Frank’s cover demands forced inaction. But the town is rotting from the inside out. When a local teenager gets targeted by sadistic out-of-town enforcers, Frank shatters his own low profile to intervene. By pulling that single thread, he exposes the town’s darkest secret: the riverside warehouses have been turned into a trafficking pipeline run by Alfaro’s top lieutenants, with a local police officer keeping the perimeter clean.

Once a line is crossed in a town wired with fear, the shadows start watching everyone. With his federal backup hours away and the cartel shifting its patterns in the dark, Frank is forced to make a lethal choice. In a game where truth is bent and the law is compromised, he must rely on his own tactical instincts to confront a shadow network that plays for keeps. The cartel thinks they own this town. They are about to find out Frank Ryder is the wall they break themselves on.

"When the law is compromised, how far will you go to tear down the dark?"
